The Scooby Clan Unites

Posted by Martyn

Last night I travelled to meet up with Chris and the rest of the Scoobies in Bath. Most of you lot know that my second love after football is computer games and I do play on Xbox live when I am not up the gym or in the pub.

Ages ago when I moved across to Compaq computers I joined some forums to pass the time when I had no work to do. During January of this year I stumbled across this group of female gamers called the Frag Dolls

  • Frag Dolls
  • After reading their web site I noticed a link to a forum that took me to Ubisoft. I read through some of the threads and decided to join. To cut a long story short I spoke to Chris who had formed a clan called the Scoobies. The clan had already had members and a forum was created, the Scoobies have only played a few live games but today members of the Frag Dolls forum will all meet at Alton Towers. I am not going because unfortunately I have other plans but I decided to go to Bath and meet up with the Scooby clan.

As I arrived in Bath I had to ask about 5 people to get directions to the pub but it seems that all I had to do was walk straight up the hill. As I entered the pub I noticed Chris , Cait and Paul and joined them for a few drinks. I was amazed how well we got on after only speaking to some of them for a couple of months. Vixen and Chris are the two that I speak mostly too but it was great to meet everyone at last. Vixen (Cait), and her boyfriend (who I recognised as soon as I seen him but I think it must have been a face in Bristol) Aidan drove up from Bristol. Chris (Hixx) and Karenna (Half Pint) came from Guernsey. Also there was Paul James, Shockzz and Ryan (Nightbird) all in the clan but I do not know them as well as the others.

The 8 of us headed off for something to eat and we ended up in the depths of the core of a Indian restaurant called The Rajpoot Restaurant. There where two restaurants but we decided to go to the bigger more expensive one which I think was a good idea because it was bigger and the food was very nice. As Ryan did not go to Indian’s often I told him to go for the Korma which I recommend to anyone who does not like hot food. My respect for him jumped when he ate one of Chris’s hot chilli’s without hardly making a fuss (which is more then I can say for Chris ;) ). I had the Chicken Jaflang which was a house special and nice but not hot.

It was a fun night and I would like to think that I have made some new friends and it was great to see Chris and Cait at last.
