Rooney had his scan yesterday and the papers are all saying it is looking good for England’s #1 striker. The excitement of the World Cup 2006 is starting to build up for most people (men) and my desk at work is already decorated with a England flag and a group stage poster, plus my background on my PC displays the Germany World Cup 06 three smiley face symbol.
Just over 3 months to the Bristol half marathon and I decided to get into gear with the whole training regime. Running from home on my own took a lot of motivation and to increase my distance was not really going to plan. Even though towards the end of last year I was running 5 miles on a tread mill, running outside was harder and a lot of work. From home I was running about 1 ½ - 2 miles which was not good enough and I felt that time was running out. Anyway the other day me and Paula a friend from work (she enjoys running and runs for a club) spoke about running during a lunch hour. We have discussed a few times about going out at a lunch time for a run and yesterday we did just that. We went twice around the HP site which works out at 5k (3 miles) but at the end of it I felt that I could have maybe done a third. As it happens I am ache in my lower back and right shoulder today and I was hoping to run tomorrow morning. This may have to wait until Sunday as I will go out again on Tuesday lunchtime and I will try and get a third lap in making it 4 ½ miles. This weekend should be a quiet one only going out on Sunday into Bristol for my sister’s birthday.
