10 Day’s until the World Cup

Posted by Martyn

Bit of a boring weekend just gone, we never went out on Friday night so I ended up playing Oblivion most of the night as well as joining a few of the scoobies for a game of Perfect Dark. Saturday again was a quiet day. In the morning I travelled to Ashton Gate to re new my season ticket with Bristol City which cost me £275 and found a nice green shirt for £5.

Sunday night we celebrated my sisters birthday (which is today) and went into Bristol. We started in Henry J Beans on White Ladies road and the first problem we came across was my cousin and her friend could not get into the bar. True that she is only 16/17 but my sister managed to get her in. She started drinking a double vodka and coke, what a drink to start with I was impressed.

Anyway, after an hour of chatting to just my cousin and Lee (my sister's boyfriend) I decided to mingle. There were some people there I knew from Kate's last birthday but some new faces. I got on well with a girl (whose name escapes my mind) that Katy went to school with. She was very chatty blonde 27 year old who was easy to get on with. There was this other guy there called Craig a work mate of Katy's and his girlfriend who were easy to talk to.
After about 2 hours we moved onto the waterfront, after having an argument with one of the bouncers outside one of the bars we moved onto the next pub. Not really my style of music as it was all R&B and the bar was crap but I got up and danced anyway.
Kate went home early with Lee and the rest of us left at 1am.
After walking Kate’s mate to Oceania (as she was meeting someone) I made sure Kelly (cousin) and her friend got home safe with me as I had a lift.

Update: Just been running during my lunch hour. It was nice at first, sunny and not to hot. I had a sleeveless top on and my iPod strapped to my right arm. After a warm up I took off for my first lap of the HP estate which went fine although I did think my stride was too quick as my first lap flew by. I kind of blame the music from my iPod because with the music going I could not listen to my breathing and also I seem to change my stride depending on the song and rhythm of the music from my MP3 player.
Any how the second time round and cramp hit me and had to stop for about 5 minutes. After that I was about to stop and go back to the changing rooms when my confidence kicked in and forced me to finish the second lap making it 3 miles. My target was 4 1/2 but my right calf muscle is hurting and it's better if I don't injure myself.
