I decided to add one of my old blogs onto here. Below is the stag weekend to the wedding mentioned in my first blog.
22-23 April 2006
Started off the weekend at 5:30am on Saturday morning when I got up and packed the rest of my stuff for the Newcastle stag weekend. After picking up Paul (a friend of the best man’s who I meet for the first time that day) we headed off to Bristol Airport to meet four others. We checked in and then went to get breakfast and the first drink of the day at 7.30am.
We boarded the plane at 8:25 and once in the air for a 50 minute flight I decided to have a double whisky to calm my nerves from flying. I had time to teach my friends a game of cards before the captain told us we where coming into land.
We all took our bags to the hotel and headed off to the first pub around 10:30 which happens to be right next to St.James Park. Pints were £1.50 each so we all put £20 into the kitty, one guy in charge of all the money which lasted ages, plus we even got a meal from the pub out of the kitty and about 11 drinks before having to add another £20.
At 6pm all the Newcastle United fans came out of the ground with smiles on their faces and we continued to watch the Liverpool v Chelsea match in another pub and won and lost a bet on the match also arguing with some United fan about Joe Cole. While all this was going on the stag was dressed as a pink bunny (That is one of those Bunny outfits a playboy girl would wear) and our group had loads of attention for the rest of the day but strange enough it was mostly from guys.
At 8pm we went back to the hotel to check in and have a quick S.S.S. before heading to the bar and off out again to the first club we came to. Again it was drinks and dancing before the nine of us split up and four of us went into a bar that was just like Coyote Ugly with women dancing on the bars wearing black bikinis and pouring shots into your mouth for a £1. This was when drinks became expensive. Up until that pub I had spent £40 but I came out of the club with £20 left from £150.
The next morning I was awoken buy a bombardment of text messages wishing me a Happy Birthday. I then climbed out of the balcony and entered the next room waking up my other two friends who looked worse for wear. After learning that breakfast was £15 in the hotel we found a local pub which did a full English for £3.50 and as it was so hot I decided to sunbath outside next to the tyne.
Before we left I wanted to see St James Park so after asking a Geordie with a Newcastle top who never knew where the ground was we eventually found it and sat outside the United Bar watching the day go by.
At 4.25 we boarded the plane back for Bristol and at 8pm I was back in the pub with my friends celebrating my birthday before going back to one of their houses to polish off his dad’s whisky.
