Ok being a Man Utd fan Man City is another team I despise but I have to hand it to Sven and the way he has changed the team around. If Sven had not taken over as manager I seriously think that we could have given MC more of a run for their money but as it happened the x-England boss brought his team of millionaires to Ashton Gate to play in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup.
It’s always nice to watch premiership team’s play live and Man City were no acceptation. They were fast on the break and their passing was quick and on target. It made it enjoyable to watch as their little flicks and dribbles were pin point and the ease of which they seemed to get past some of our midfield was a joy to watch.
In the first half they brought that game to us and after 10 minutes looked like they were in complete control. Bristol City held their end and after MC’s 16 minute goal by Mpenza the mighty reds heads never dropped. You could tell that we were up for this game and in the second half it was nice to see we stated to take control of the match and brought the game to MC more. After a couple of close missed from MC and us (Trundle very unlucky) our equaliser came from defender Bradley Orr in the 68th minute. Funny thing was Bradley seemed to be the weak link of the game up until that point and fans around us were not happy with him………well until he scored anyway.
After the goal MC came back at us more but we still looked the better side until a moment of weak defending gave Bianchi the opportunity to go 1-2 ahead.
I can’t knock Man City they played like you expect a team worth 10x+ more then us to do well and I said before had that I though we would lose 1-2. But I am very pleased with the boys and how well they played. Now lets make sure Shedd Wed keep up their losing streak this Saturday.
