Quiet weekend down south!

Posted by Martyn

Not much of a busy weekend this one. With Jenna seeing her family in Italy I decided to get away from everything in Bristol and head to see my Grandparents in Beer Devon. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go but once I called up and said that I might go visit my Nan sounded so pleased and happy telling me she would get me a steak for lunch for Sunday that how could I turn her down.
Sooo around 3pm once I had gone round my Aunties and Uncles to feed their fish and water their garden I set off and joined a pile of traffic which was a nightmare. A 1 ½ hour journey took nearly 3 hours but I did have fun on the way with these two guys in a Seat Leon dodging in and out of traffic.
When I got down there, there isn’t much to do apart from admire the view as it was pouring with rain.
Sunday was a better day with the sun shining I walked down to the beach and got some sweets just like I remembered doing as a child. My grandparents have a static caravan on a cliff face and the view is really breathtaking.
I have been visiting there all my life and it was nice to spend some time with them and I think they really enjoyed my company. Most of Sunday I sat in their garden or on the bench reading while looking out to sea. Normally it’s a place where you can get away from noise but this weekend was full with families which meant screaming kids.
The drive back I also hit traffic but once I got home I decided to go to the gym for a couple of hours and started chatting to once of my friends who goes there regularly.
